I painted these two paintings a couple of months after going back and forth to California from Texas. I was trying to figure out how to move forward. The art shows I had taken part in, in California, were no good. The organizers painted another picture of the events than was the reality. I had also tried to hook up with a señorita from Ensenada. I had thought that I could live cheaply, across the border, and do shows in California, Colorado, Wyoming, and Washington State. I concluded that I had no structure and no nothing
